High Mountain Doings

From 8200 feet along one side of the Upper Arkansas River Valley in central Colorado, my blog is about many things: travel including river and bicycle trips, and other experiences as well. The focus is on photography, not lots of text.

Home from the river

It's the 28th of August. We got off the Lower Salmon River and then the Snake River on the 26th, mostly in Idaho though the takeout is in extreme southeastern Washington. Got home on the 27th, and here it is a new day with lots of things to do!

More will follow, including photographs.

El Salvador, Greens and Reds

From top down, looking from Patty's large porch toward the nearest house. That house is on the other side of a small road down which a few cattle come every afternoon on their way home. Greenery is everywhere you look.

Next, a small red flower on the edge of Patty's porch. Not large, but with a goodly supply of red pigment and much fine detail.

Last, greenery and some red leaves a few feet out in front of the porch. The red serves to set off the green, or there would be no photograph here. I don't know that you'd call this country a rainforest, but it can't be too far from that. I've never personally experienced rain there, and this was my third visit.

El Salvador, a Country of Colors

I only know the names of two or three plants, and not this one. But what a beautiful thing it was, with red leaves set against a green background.
