From 8200 feet along one side of the Upper Arkansas River Valley in central Colorado, my blog is about many things: travel including river and bicycle trips, and other experiences as well. The focus is on photography, not lots of text.
This is the base of the sometimes-waterfall at the mouth of Johns Canyon. Dry for this photo, I've also seen a broad torrent of water cascading over the brink here. I didn't see a small dribble of water. I saw a full-on flash flood. It lands about where Teddy is standing, meaning that you can walk behind the waterfall where Ray is.

I'm a writer, photographer, and an independent publisher. I've mostly done river guidebooks, but also wrote and photographed Vietnam in the Absence of War about that country and about bicycling there. I'll be working on a book of photographs across the whole United States along or near Highway 50, and another about the building of a motorglider that's now in progress. I encourage comments on this blog. It's the only way I can tell whether anybody's been here.
