From 8200 feet along one side of the Upper Arkansas River Valley in central Colorado, my blog is about many things: travel including river and bicycle trips, and other experiences as well. The focus is on photography, not lots of text.
Rocks can't bend? Who says they can't bend? These rocks in Carbon Canyon would beg to differ on that point.
These too. This was taken from the summit of the aforementioned high point that we crossed just before reaching the crossover to Lava Canyon. A fault goes through this part of the Grand Canyon, going roughly in the same direction as the river runs. There's been a lot of movement here.

I'm a writer, photographer, and an independent publisher. I've mostly done river guidebooks, but also wrote and photographed Vietnam in the Absence of War about that country and about bicycling there. I'll be working on a book of photographs across the whole United States along or near Highway 50, and another about the building of a motorglider that's now in progress. I encourage comments on this blog. It's the only way I can tell whether anybody's been here.
